Happy Fall! We celebrated the first weekend of fall at a local apple orchard a few weeks ago. It was the best time after months of isolation. Before long, we had a cart full of late pears and early apples thanks to the boys who have eyesight like hawks:) My oldest is over 6' so she could grab what the rest of us couldn't.
We split the haul and brainstormed about ways to use the apples. With jars being in such shortage; I knew canning was out. I was going to miss the smell wafting through the house of slowly cooking apples and decided on Baked Apples instead. Our Pie Blend and "Baked" Sucre make it so easy!

- 3 medium firm baking apples
- 1/4 cup and 1 tbsp. "Baked" Sucre, divided
- 1/2 tsp. Pie Blend, divided
- 1 stick butter
- 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
Preheat the oven to 350. Line baking dish with parchment (or use cooking spray). Cut apples in half; removing core and stem. Place apples cut side up in baking dish. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp. Pie Blend and 1 tbsp. "Baked" Sucre on the apples; set aside.
In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in flour, oats, 1/4 cup Sucre, 1/4 tsp. Pie Blend and salt into the pot. Using a tablespoon, heap a good amount of mixture onto apples; press lightly.
Cover pan with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and baked for another 20 minutes or so until apples are fork tender and golden.
